Russell Lane
A native of London, England, Russell has had a successful global career in the financial services industry for over 30 years. After completing his final education at the L.C.P School in London, Russell had a successful career in various communication mediums and advertising management controls.
Since 1970, Russell has been a leading consultant and advisor in the financial services industry spanning two continents.
He is highly sought after as a specialist in developing effective strategies for wealthy corporate owners in ensuring successful transfer of their established wealth base. This expertise arose from Russell's experience as a leading in-house consultant to the most valued clients of one of the world's foremost property and casualty insurance groups. While in this role, Russell also acquired in-depth knowledge of the insurance and re-insurance market and the pricing factors of financial risk. This specialized knowledge coupled with his expertise in capital transfer strategies led him to found his own financial consultancy company in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Russell quickly developed a reputation as the leading authority in his field and was retained by South Africa's largest multinational financial group to represent them to leading corporate clients.
In 1977 Russell immigrated to Canada and formed his own group of financial consulting companies. Since that time, he has specialized primarily in the areas of Selective Executive Compensation, business continuation planning and wealth strategy planning for the corporate owner. His success and leadership in these areas have received recognition on a national and international basis.
Russell has been instrumental in designing and tailoring Selective Executive Compensation Programs and is frequently retained by major public and private corporations to provide reward for tenure arrangements for senior executives. Additionally, Russell has worked with successful families of privately owned corporations in Calgary and Vancouver, developing programs for the successful transfer of ownership. As a result, a considerable number of prominent families are now clients.
In addition to Russell's professional activities, he is active in the Alzheimer's Society of BC and tries to spend enough time on the golf course in an effort to regain his previous form when he was a scratch golfer. Notwithstanding his significant achievements in the financial field and the golf links, Russell considers his family and five children to be his greater accomplishment.
